Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is an actor, model and director from England. She is best known for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.Born in London, Wright made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) in which she played the character for ten years, until the last film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011). Wright was in numerous independent films after the show. These films were not well-received. Wright was the stage's first lead character in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with an undergraduate degree in filmmaking. Following her graduation from the University of the Arts in London in 2012, she began making short films with the production company BonBonLumiere. Her first directed project was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). The film was released at Cannes Film Festival to high critical acclaim. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016), that starred Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both included emotion and landscape. Wright's trilogy, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. The film was released in Medusa's Ankles (2018) which starred Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs, inspired by A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has also produced music videos for singers Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn as well as Scarlett Johansson. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos and has been recognized for her environmental activism.
