Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts, born 28 September 1968, is an British actress. Her debut film role came in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) which was followed by three television series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). Watts was a failed actress when she first arrived in the United States. She acted in small-scale movies and eventually became an actress. She rose to international fame by playing the character. Watts then played a tormented journalist in the film adaptation of The Ring (2002). Her performance as a mother with grief in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was nominated for an Academy Award. Her popularity grew through her starring parts in I Heart Huckabees (2004), King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007), as well as The International (2009). Watts was also nominated for the Academy Award as Best Actress for her role in The Impossible (2012). In the decade of 2010 she appeared in films as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014), While We're Young (2015), The Glass Castle (2017) as well as Luce (2019). Watts kept her acting career going with big-budget roles, such as in Divergent (2015-2016).
