Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides simple techniques that anyone can learn. Chef Burrell was also employed in many of New York's best restaurant chains, delved into Italian cuisine along with its traditional recipes, and participated in Food Network Iron Chef America. While growing up in the region of upstate New York area, Chef Burrell was able to discover a love of food and cooking at very young. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her when she finished with the Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. It was impossible to learn, do or work enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy taking classes at Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy she came to be aware of the history and philosophy of Italian food and culture that created a lasting impact on her food point of view. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aids children with obstacles. As a speaker, Burrell goes on a tour across the United States to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate that I could communicate her love of cooking to many others.
